Twizzle (real name Ulyssese Lopes), born in the Netherlands and raised on the small Caribbean island of St. Eustatius aka Statia), is a rapper and songwriter blending Caribbean rhythm, soulful melodies, and raw storytelling. His sound bridges the world he came from with the one he’s building.
Lyrically, his work often addresses subjects such as self-belief, struggle, faith, and personal transformation.

Twizzle’s journey started in Statia’s tight-knit community, later expanding to the Netherlands, where he shaped his craft in the Hip-Hop underground scene. Influenced by legends like Tupac, Biggie, and the everyday reality of island life, he began writing what many in the Caribbeam call “island rap”.

Since founding his independent label Darkside Muzik (DSM), Twizzle has produced and released a steady stream of singles that reflect both grit and growth. His track “Street Code” broke onto the DRT Global Top 150 Independent Airplay Chart, earning him attention beyond the Caribbean. Songs like “Wanna Shine”, “Best for Me”, and “Born Again” showcase his versatility — from smooth motivational anthems to introspective, faith-driven storytelling.

More than a rapper, Twizzle is largely self-taught in audio production, mixing, videography, social media ads and web design, managing much of his creative process independently, showing that great art can rise from anywhere. He represents independence, resilience, and the belief that greatness can rise from anywhere.

“Music is the space where you can go and control the vibe when things around you aren't right.”
